The simple forms and monochrome palette that characterize cyanotypes often imbue them with ambiguity. I use the irreplicable process of creating each print to showcase cyanotypes’ capacity for specificity and knack for storytelling. Created to be fossils of ephemeral shadows, these images emphatically claim a place and time, carrying their origin story wherever they go. Informed by this documentary quality, my cyanotypes pay witness to this moment, whether political, environmental, or personal.
